we create sustainable heritage knitwear using fleece from local sheep grazing on the west coast of Guernsey

From flock to frock

The fields

Beautiful pasture on the stunning west coast of Guernsey. All within a mile radius of home so we're never far away. We're very fortunate that our neighbours allow the sheep to graze in their fields also ensuring a ready supply of fresh pasture.

the flock

A small flock including Lleyn, Romney, Shropshire and Suffolk all with a personality of their own chosen specifically for their fleece. We started with a crew of five Suffolk sheep who needed a new home and it just grew from there.

the yarn

A soft creamy white yarn enables us to create sustainable, heritage knitwear so comfortable you won't want to wear anything else. For the moment we aren't using any dyes so you can any have colour you want so long as it's aran.

celebrating guernsey's quality knitting heritage

Throughout the centuries Guernsey has enjoyed a reputation for quality knitwear from stockings in the 18th century to guernseys (with a small g) today. However this is the first time garments have been created from fleece of sheep reared and living on island. We have a mix of Romney, Shropshire, Lleyn and Suffolk sheep which together produce a soft creamy yarn ideal for our range of knitwear. Our collection will always be limited to the amount of yarn the crew produce each year, once it's gone it's gone. Each Le Courriqua piece is handcrafted and features some individuality.
